Dr Tochi is a partner in the law firm of PUNUKA Attorneys & Solicitors and currently heads the firm's Insolvency and Business Restructuring group. He received his LL.B degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1997 and was called to Nigerian Bar in 1999 after graduating from the Nigerian Law School with a second class upper division (2:1). In 2007, he got a scholarship award from the Central European University, Budapest, Hungary to undertake a master's degree program in International Business Law and this culminated in obtaining his LL.M degree in 2008. Sequel to his brilliant academic performances, Central European University further offered him a fellowship to pursue a doctorate degree program in International Business Law in 2008 and consequently, he received his Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) degree with summa cum laude grade in 2011.

He holds a World Law Institute Certificate from Emory University School of Law Atlanta Georgia United States, and was a visiting scholar at the University Of Washington School Of Law, Seattle, United States in 2010.

Dr Tochi has over 12 years post-call experience. He joined Punuka Attorneys and Solicitors in 2001 and has been very active in the firm's litigation and corporate transactional practice in the areas of capital market, privatisation and investment law. Prior to his leave of absence for post-graduate studies in 2007, he was the head of litigation at the Abuja Office of Punuka Attorneys and Solicitors.

His practice and academic interest include secured transactions, asset securitization, bankruptcy and business restructuring, investment and intellectual property laws. He is a member of Nigerian Bar Association.
